BEN HUDSON, TRACK Magazine Owner/Publisher/Editor

Ben Hudson and Jerry McAdams founded TRACK Magazine in 1975. Since then, TRACK has grown to include the weekly online newsletter, the MONDAY REPORT. While Jerry left the business in the early 1990s to pursue other interests, Ben has continued to publish TRACK Magazine from its world headquarters in Morgan Mill, Texas. In addition to publishing the premiere magazine for American Quarter Horse racing, Ben is also active in many different aspects of the industry. He has served on many American Quarter Horse Association committees and is currently on the Stud Book and Registration Committee. He is a past president and on the board of directors of the Texas Quarter Horse Association and was involved in the formation of the horse management and reproduction program at Tarleton State University. Ben is also a member of the Texas Horse Racing Hall of Fame and won the 2002 Gordon Crone Award for his contributions to American Quarter Horse racing.

Christine Hudson is an invaluable member of the TRACK Magazine design team. Christine is a renowned artist with her own line of custom designed jewelry, Christine & Co., that she premiers at Ruidoso Downs every year. TRACK Magazine is blessed to have Christine lend her artistic style and flair to many of TRACK Magazine's advertisements. Christine is also an accomplished horsewoman whose small but elite broodmare band has produced numerous stakes winners over the years.

 

 

 

 

STACI FOIX, Advertising Director

Staci Foix recently returned to the TRACK Magazine staff as a full-time employee. A graduate of Northwood University in Cedar Hill, Texas with a degree in advertising, Staci started at TRACK in 1999 and was involved in practically every aspect of the business until mid-summer 2008 when she cut her duties back to only handling the ads in the MONDAY REPORT from home on weekends. With her youngest son now in school, Staci is back at our Morgan Mill headquarters Monday through Friday, and she still does those MONDAY REPORT ads from home on the weekends. She and her husband Joe Mike reside in Comanche, Texas, and together they share two sons, Michael and Ryder, a daughter, Ashley, and grandson Ryan.

 

 

 

PAM ALLEVA, Editorial & Monday Report Editor

Pam Alleva graduated from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas, and joined the TRACK Magazine staff in 2000. Pam is the driving force behind the weekly MONDAY REPORT, as she is in charge of compiling all of the stakes results and pedigree notes for the races run each weekend. A talented artist, Pam manages various monthly items in TRACK Magazine including the classified ads and editorial columns. Pam lives in Stephenville, Texas, with her seven-year-old twins Brett and Piper.

 

 

 

MARIA MERAS, Circulation & Accounting

Maria Meras joined the TRACK Magazine team in March of 2008 after a lengthy and successful career in the Stephenville Independent School District. Maria is in charge of maintaining the ever-growing TRACK Magazine subscriber database as well as handling billing and receptionist duties. She keeps the office running! Maria is also fluent in both English and Spanish, making her an invaluable asset to the staff. Maria lives in Stephenville, Texas, and likes to spend her time visiting her two grown children, Talia Gaston and Nicasio Meras, and grandsons Trey and Tate. Maria also volunteers extensively in Erath County, and in 2004 was named "Erath County Woman of the Year" by the Cross Timbers Business and Professional Women's Club.

 

FRANK HOLMES, Historical Correspondent

Frank Holmes has been penning horse-related feature articles and historical books since 1969. His interests have always been centered on the historical aspects of the western horse breeds, and his broad-based knowledge of the origins of the Quarter Horse, Paint, Appaloosa and Palomino registries have established him as one of the pre-eminent equine historians of all time. A former staff writer for Western Horseman magazine, Frank has authored or co-authored 12 books including the extremely popular “Wire to Wire – the Walter Merrick Story.” His most recent effort has been “Legends 8,” in which he profiled 20 famous Quarter Horses including the celebrate runners Spotted Bull (TB), Miss Panama, Black Easter Bunny, Double Bid, Top Moon and Special Effort. He resides near Kiowa, Colorado.
